rate-limit parameter calculation

hi all,

i have doubt related how to configure the rate-limit.my doubt is related to normal burts and excess burts. in rate limit do we need to specify bits ,or convert them into bytes and them specify. example i have to limit ftp with speed of 1mb (1000000)bits normal burts 100kb and excess burts 200 kb.now 100kb we need to mention as 100000(bits) or 12500(bytes). the excess burts will me need to specify as 200000(bits) or 25000(bytes)..

When using CAR (rate-limit) both burst values need to be specified in bytes..

you mean to say for 100kb 12500bytes is the right answer than 100000 bits .

That is correct, Amit - the burst parameter should be 12500 bytes.
