Hello everyone,
When I use the command "neighbor x.x.x.x remove-private-as" , only the 2-byte private ASNs are removed but not the 4-byte private ASNs. What command should I use to remove 4-byte private ASNs in IOS/IOS-XR?
I know about the workaroud of using 'aggregate' but I would like to know if there is a more specific command on Cisco routers.
Thanks in advance.
Andrés

Hi @Andreseo90 ,
I ran a quick test with IOS-XR 6.6.1 and it removes the 4 octets ASN from the private range as expected.

Hi @Andreseo90 ,
I think all recent IOS, IOS-XE, IOS-XR and NX-OS will do that by default. What OS are you running? Are you trying to remove just 1 or multiple ASN?

Hola @Harold Ritter ,
Thank you for your response. It is a virtual environment and the image is IOS-XR version 6.5.1 (a bit old).
In my test I have a mix of private AS's from the initial and extended range... only the ones from the initial range are removed.
I checked the document 'BGP reference commands' for version 6.7.x and it only references the initial AS range and not the extended AS range : "The private autonomous system values range from 64512 to 65535."
Regards,
Andrés

@Harold Ritter Thank you very much for taking the time to do a test.
I will download a new version for testing.
Have a great weekend.
