Small ISP network, routing, MPLS

Hi

I currently have a mix of L2 and routed network (small ISP network).

Only static routes though.

To overcome the drawbacks of L2 I`m now redesigning.

Need to have:

Relative easy to manage.

Separate management network, use separate VLANs for this today.

And being able to provide L2 VPNs for clients (use EoIP and VLANs today).

What is the way to go?
Seems like MPLS is the hot thing?

What routing protocol, OSPF?

Hello Perpaal,

yes MPLS is the way to go.

Recommended IGPs are OSPF or ISIS. MP BGP is also a must.

EoMPLS point to point services can be provided using LDP targeted sessions.

VPLS p2mp services require specific hardware.

Hope to help
