The date when last security patch was applied

Hello everyone,

I'm doing a review of some Cisco devices (switches and routers) and one of the questions I need to respond to is the date when the last patch was applied to the devices. Is there a way I can determine that from the equipment?

Yes and no.

Generally security updates are embedded into a full IOS image. For such, if you determine what IOS is running on the device, if you then consult Cisco's site, you can look at the release date of that IOS image. (Release notes for an IOS version, will likely note security patches included in it.)
