Cisco SDWAN Remote deployments

We have allot of remote sites with no one at the sites.  We also are not doing the ztp or pnp... so we have a private install.  We need to upgrade our cisco cedge to controller mode which wipes the configuration....

So the question is what is the best way to do this without anyone at the site?

Thanks

Hi,

you may do remote upgrade (rommon and IOS XE) and use bootstrap configuration for automatic deployment.

https://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/solutions/CVD/SDWAN/sd-wan-wan-edge-onboarding-deploy-guide-2020jan.pdf

Option 2: Onboarding Cisco IOS-XE SD-WAN WAN device with Bootstrap deployment option (page 37) -describes boorstrap option.

Appendix H – Upgrading software to SD-WAN IOS-XE Software (page 95) - describes upgrade process.

In addition, it would be better to open support case for step by step guide. If you don't have smartnet, do this method for the branch which is near to you or there is one at site who can help you (console access etc) in case of problem. You should carefully check current rommon/IOS XE version and to which IOS XE you want to upgrade. Check whether direct upgrade is possible and/ or ROMMON upgrade is needed.
