How to properly patch / upgrade SMCv and FlowCv

Good morning!

I have a a simple topology with a SMC Virtual and FlowC Vritual 7.3.0 both, I wonder how to patch and upgrade properly this VMs.

Also, in the patches section https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286307166/type/286325237/release/7.3.0 there's no related links or documentation.

And, I have a few questions:

1. Which one should I patch first, SMC or FlowC?

2. Should I go for a patch in the same version 7.3.0 and why is there a 7.3.1? Do I have to upgrade to 7.3.1 prior to patch 7.3.1 patch?

3. How much time does it take?

4. What is the upgrade path I should take?

5. Please, any documentation regarding this concerns will be appreciated.

Regarding Apps:

1. The 7.3.0 version came with a few apps already installed, will patch or upgrade of the VM do the same to the app?

2. and, how to upgrade to a newer version of the app? would the install of the new version trigger the upgrade / replace?

Please let me know your experience with this so I can have context to upgrade and patch a Prod environment.

thank you experts,

Please refer to the Release and Compatibility section of the Stealthwatch (Cisco Secure Network Analytics) documentation page:

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/security/stealthwatch/products-release-notes-list.html

In general, Cisco recommends that you make sure you install the latest rollup patch on your appliances before you upgrade.

The latest release is 7.3.2 and you can upgrade to it from 7.2.1, 7.3.0 or 7.3.1.

Stealthwatch apps are packaged and upgraded separately. They are all listed on the downloads site. e.g.:

https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286307166/type
