Hi community,
I am looking to upgrade an old version 6.9 of hardware SMC 2200/ FC 4200 to a recent one. I know there is a strict upgrade path that needs to be followed as per the documentation. But what if the data is not needed or possible to be deleted - is it possible to factory reset the SMC/FC and install directly the latest version 7.4.1 or 7.3 ? Is there any documentation for the boot sequence and image transfer if this is possible ?
Thanks.

Below is the document available:-
Not sure if you can upgrade directly by factor reset-- because the process should follow the upgrade path..
Thanks,

Hello @kaizen,
You always have to follow the upgrade path as there are things in the background changing which is needed to be performed with the step upgrades. But you can always go with the latest version, so from 6.9 you can go directly to 7.0.3, then to 7.1.3 -> 7.2.1 -> 7.3.2 and if you want, you can then also go to 7.4.1.
All the upgrading guides you can find here: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/security/stealthwatch/products-installation-guides-list.html
Biggest upgrade IMO is from 6.9 to 7.0, so make sure you do all the prerequisites. We also have a good video on the learning platform for this upgrade: https://learnsecureanalytics.cisco.com/learning-byte-stealthwatch-70-upgrade-overview/267315
Hope this helps, cheers!
