The user cannot connect to the console port of the VPN Concentrator 3005

Resolution

To resolve this issue, perform these steps:

1. VPN 3005 Concentrator has a DB9 connector. Use a straight cable in order to connect the COM1 or serial port on the PC to the console on this device.Cisco supplies the cable with the system.
2. Start a terminal emulator (HyperTerminal) on the PC. Configure a connection on  COM1 with these port settings:
   • 9600 bits per second
   • 8 data bits
   • no parity
   • 1 stop bit
   • hardware flow control
3. Set the emulator for VT100 emulation, or let the emulator auto-detect the  emulation type.
