Core issue

The Cisco Secure Access Control Server (ACS) GUI interface hangs while accessing with Microst Internet Explorer (IE).

Resolution

For optimal performance of Microsoft IE while accessing Cisco Secure ACS GUI interface, perform these steps:

  1. Remove proxy, if configured in the IE browser, as shown in these steps:
    1. Click on Tools tab in the IE window.
    2. Go to Internet Options.
    3. Click on Connections tab.
    4. Click on the LAN settings button.
    5. Check the Proxy Server box and click Advanced.
    6. Remove proxy, if configured.
    1. Verify the IE caching settings, as shown in these steps:
      1. Click on the Tools tab in the IE window. Go to Internet Options.
      2. Click on the Settings button in the Temporary Internet box.
      3. Under Check For Newer Versions of Stored Pages, select Every visit to the page.
    2. Make sure you are running version 6.0, Service Pack 1, Sun Java Plug-in 1.4.2_04 or Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (JVM) of Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows.
    3. Uninstall IE patch Q832894, if installed. This issue is documented in Cisco bug ID CSCed89878.
