This video covers an overview of Cisco Smart Software Licensing including the difference between traditional and Smart Licenses, the benefits and how to access and manage these Smart Licenses on software.cisco.com.
I have been reading about Smart Accounts and Smart Licenses from varying articles. One thing that I still cannot find out is whether these are required. If a customer, for example, buys 1x 9300 switch, does he need to create a Smart Account? Or can the switch just be installed like the traditional approach?
Any help is appreciated.
You are correct the Company would need a Smart Account moving forward. Please see additional information at https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/switches/catalyst-9300-series-switches/bulletin-c25-741131.html
Thank you for the reply rpadden. Now what will happen if the device is not registered to CSSM?
