SDA in Brownfield+Greefield

Hello all,

I am trying to build an solution for SDA solution and would like experts advice on my thoughts.

I have an existing infrastructure (campus based) that I cannot touch. Also I have the option of building a new greenfield alongside this existing infrastructure. My thought is to build the new infrastructure and connect to the existing infrastructure using the Fusion router for the presently existing services. I plan on using one 9400 (or even two in SVL) as a control plane border, Fusion router and as a border node.

Can you please advice if this is feasible and recommended?

Hi,

Parallel deployment is a common migration scenario from traditional to SD-Access.

If you look at the SD-Access design guide, you'll see that the Fusion device is a separate entity that allows connectivity to other L3 networks as well as shared services and route-leaking between VNs if required.

So, you end up with a device(s) typically with collocated Border and Control Plane functions, then separate device(s) that run as fusions.

Hope that helps.

Regards.
