Can a host in one vSAN talk to Storage port in diff. vSAN ?

All within the same MDS9509 chassis, I have:

1. a storage port in vSAN 100 (with vSAN 100 hosts zoned to it)

2. a host port assigned to vSAN 700 (zoned to a storage port in vSAN 700)

Is it possible to allow the host in vSAN 700 to be zoned to the storage port in vSAN 100 without changing the vSAN of either port? Thanks!!! C.G.

Yes, with InterVSAN Routing. In native mode, two devices cannot talk outside of their vsan but with IVR, they can. In this case you enable IVR, define the IVR topolgy to be the switches that have these two devices attached and then define an IVR zoneset with these devices in them. When you active that IVR zoneset, a copy will 'push' into each vsan. So, vsan 100 and vsan 700 will each get a copy of the IVR zoneset.

Yes,

You need an Enterprise License for Inter VSAN routing. IVR will allow devices to access eachother across VSANs. Looks the same as zoning, just has VSAN numbers appended to the zone members.
