Case sensitivity in zoneset naming

Very new at this. I embarrassingly created a zoneset with the same name as our active zoneset, except that the name is in lower case, rather than in mixed upper and lower case of the active zoneset. Can I simply enter the syntax: no zoneset name <zoneset name>, and not risk removing the active zoneset?

good zoneset ZoneSet-A-00

bad zoneset zoneset-a-00

Thanks...blush

Good morning,

What you can do is create your own little test case and find out!

1. Create a new vsan

2. add a few ports to the vsan

3. create a new zoneset

4. create another zoneset with upper/lower in the same name

5. delete one and see what happens.

This is one of the best things about vsans. You can do test after test in a completly isolotated environment on the one switch!

Let me know if you need any more info on doing this.

Cheers

Andrew

Good Advice. Just gotta get up on creating VSANs. As it turns out, zones and zoneset names ARE case sensitive.
