Hi Friends

I need a help from you guys.

We have Cisco MDS9124 Failed Switch connected in fabric,  We want to replace with other Cisco MDS 9124 which is healthier but in loader mode when we are connecting through serial.

Now I want to replace the failed switch with healthier switch.

For that I need to configure that healthier switch to normal from loader mode.

As well please suggest if we add this switch after configuring name, ip and etc. into the fabric the zoning configurations will automatically replicated from the principal switch/fabric or we need to do it manually.

Do you have a configuration backup of the failed switch ? if not, good luck ! you start from scratch.

Does the replacement switch boot standalone ? you would need to do a erase all.

Yes we have backup of failed switch but we don"t have ftp server to restore config. Is there nay other option to restore?

Does a config restore will restore the license to new switch also???

Licenses tight to s/n of chassis, so they would be gone.
From loader prompt you can recover if you configure ip/netmask and boot kickstart and load system images from tftp (easier than ftp, need to be on the same subnet).
Or swap Compact Flash from failed one and put it in working switch (i did it with DS-C9134, it works). Config needs to be loaded from tftp unless you made backup on a CF as well
