Cisco MDS 9132T loses its mgmt0 IP address and subnet every reboot

I'm new to Cisco MDS. We had Brocade switches before.

I'm struggling to get the NPIV ports on the UCS FI's to show the vHBA WWPN's of the blades even though it all looks good in the config. In my efforts to get that working, I ran a "reload" to reboot the switch. After that, my management port lost its IP. I physically consoled into the switch and see my mgmt0 with no IP or subnet. Default gw is still present. So I ran "show startup-config" and it clearly has the IP and subnet for mgmt0 in there. So does my running config, yet here I am with no IP on mgmt0.

So I did "config t" and set up mgmt0 again, viewed it in running config, copied to startup-config, ran a "reload" again, and again the IP is gone from the mgmt0 port.

Any clue why this would happen?

Thanks!

I just did a "reload system non-disruptive" and it went through a long process of checking the images and stuff, but did NOT lose the mgmt0 IP address, which is nice.

I went to another MDS switch here and ran a plain "reload" and it did NOT lose the IP address.

So I went back to the first MDS and ran a plain "reload" again and it rebooted and did NOT lose its IP address.

No clue why it is holding onto the IP now, but I'm happy.

Now if the vHBAs would just show up so I could start zoning, I could actually use these MDS's for their intended purpose.

If anyone wants to try and help me with the NPIV stuff, here is what I did to set it up:
I added net-new connections between my UCS FI's and the MDS. The ports on the FI are set up exactly like the existing ones going to the Brocade, same VSANs and everything. They look good after I created the VSANs on the MDS to match the ID of the VSAN on the FIs. The FIs are showing the correct port type of N Proxy. When I do "show fcns database" on the MDS, it shows NPV next to the interfaces that plug into the FIs.

It feels like there is one more step you have to do to get the vHBAs to show up on the MDS, but everything online says they should just immediately be there when you do "show flogi database". The flogi database only shows me the WWN of the FI physical ports, not the vHBAs of the blades.
