Direct attached FC storage on FI and uplink FCoE traffic to N7K

Hello All,

I'm designing a UCS+Storage FC solution for two sites (Primary and DR) and there's only the N7K+N2K combo. Because the N7K doesn't have FC ports (anything in the roadmap?) and the sites doesn't have SAN switches (only iSCSI storage), I'm trying to get documentation about using the FI northbound uplink to transport FCoE (direct attached FC storage) to the N7K and then to the other site for storage replication.

Is it possible?

Thanks, JC.

Hi JC,

you need a Nexus 5500 or a MDS to act as FCF.

Here are a good explanation:
