Hello,
My name's Milos. I have a few questions regarding the expansion of physical RAM memory on 3 hyperflex servers.
I haven’t had a chance to do that before.
What is the best way to do RAM expansion by inserting additional RAM on all servers?
Do I have to open a Cisco TAC for this action or not?
Is it ok to follow this link to do this and not to compromise the operation of VMs on the hyperflex cluster: https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/hyperconverged_systems/HX_series/HX240c_M4/HX240c/replace.html ?
What I should pay special attention to in this action?
Please help and opinion.
Thanks in advance,
Milos

You can expand the physical memory in the server by placing the HX node into HX maintenance mode and then powering down the servers. You don't need a TAC case to perform this operation but if you need support they are available for you.
Here is some documentation about replacing DIMM which might help as well. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/hyperconverged_systems/HX_series/HX240c_M4/HX240c/replace.html#92448

Hi Eric,
Thank you very much for your response. Yes it is that procedure that is on the link you sent.
I asked the TAC, and they told me the same.
Thank you very much once again.
Best regards,
Milos

Please make sure to dcom the servers before adding the RAM, and then re-ack them to trigger re-discovery.
Thanks,
Kirk...
