In a core edge Topology, do all PCGs need to be set at the same speed?

In one of our core edge topologies, the cores and the storage switches have 32 port 10Gb capable cards, the host edge switches only have 4 Gb capable cards with plans to upgrade within the next 6 months.  I need to increase the Port Channel Groups, which has historically been accomplished by adding ISLs.  I'm wondering if I can just up the ISLs on the Core - Storage switches to 8Gb and compensate on the Core-Host side by adding ISLs until they're ungraded.  Please advise.

I did not understand the entire context yet. But you can have your core connections in different speed than edge.

On the port channel front configurations need to be same in the member ports , such as speed , mode, rate mode, trunking mode.

Please review the Interface configuration guide for the respective OS version
