Hello,
I'm trying to configure a L3 Etherchannel in a Cisco MDS 9222i, as explained in http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/mds9000/sw/nx-os/configuration/guides/ipsvc/ipsvc_cli_4_2_published/ips.html#wp1971215 and I'm getting the following error:
CPD-MDS9222i-A# conf
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
CPD-MDS9222i-A(config)# interface port-channel 1
CPD-MDS9222i-A(config-if)# exit
CPD-MDS9222i-A(config)# interface gigabitethernet 1/1
CPD-MDS9222i-A(config-if)# channel-group 1
command failed: port not compatible [generic error]
** You can use force option to override the port's parameters
** (e.g. "channel-group X force")
CPD-MDS9222i-A(config-if)# channel-group 1 force
command failed: port not compatible [generic error]
It makes no difference if first I configure an IP address in Po1. I always receive this error.
Here it is a "show version" of the equipment:

I believe the 9222i does not support etherchannel. however if this is for FCIP, you can create multiple FCIP interfaces and place those into the channel group.
