MDS 9509 ISL MDS 9124

Hello all,

have a quiry hope you can help me.

Im adding a new MDS 9124 NX-OS Release 5.0(1), have already an existing 9509 with the follwing software version:

  BIOS:      version 1.0.6

  kickstart: version 3.2(3)

  system:    version 3.2(3)

im connecting a new storage through the 9124 and would want the existing servers on the 9509 to be able to communicate with that server, Solution I could find is creating an ISL, been searching for the firmware pre-requsite but couldnt find it. will this work without upgrading the 9509 firmware ?

not much of excperince with MDS switches, am I doing this correctly ?

Also another question, will the upgrade be data interaptive ? i.e. will it require reboot or disconnect the ports while uprading.

you will need to upgrade 9509 to at least 3.3.1c

If you look at the release notes for 3.3.1c it will tell you if it's a disruptive upgrade (typicall it's not)
