Hi
due to power outage we changed entire MDS swiches
including chassis and blades
after restoring configuration from FTP server
we are faced to no communication issue between
host,tape,storage thru MDS
after investigation when found that WWN has changed
so we need to reconfigure all alias
is it a know problem ? or are they any workaround on that ?
because doing same on brocade core switch
(replacing entire switch)
after restoring configuration , we doing nothing
after on brocade switch to restore connectivity
between hosts, tape an storage connected thru it
thanks in advance for any comments

Which wwn are you talking about? The fwwn will definitely change after a chassis replacement. That is why is best to zone using the PWWN of the devices that are attaching. If you are zoning by PWWN, then it will stay in the config and when the config is moved over, the zone would be the same in either chassis

FWWN this is port scalable than pwwn because
changing of moving hba doesnt introduce any change
of zoning
why fwwn will change when replacing chassis ?
this is really a serious difference instead brocade
where chassis doesnt interfer with zoning, wwn
or something on san

The FWWN is a derivative of the chassis so if the chassis changes, then the FWWN referencing the ports will change as well.
