Is there an easy way to save my current static FCID values and load them to a new mds (assume the same VSAN and domain ids are used in the new switch).

From your existing switch run the command 'show run' One of the first items in the running config will be the FCID allocation list. Copy paste this info at the (config term) prompt to load them into your new switch. You get to the config menu by typing 'config t' after you are logged into the cli of the switch.

ok, but how about things that are not currently setup to be static. Is there a simple way to preserve current fcid based on the show flogi dat output?

copy the persistent fcid database from old switch (running config) to new switch. See the config guide.
