I have a few MDS 9148 switches configured as NPV to the MDS9710-V1 director. I have to consolidate all of these departmental switches to another new MDS9710 director, which will eventually become the edge director connecting to the existing director.
The existing director is running with 6.2(21) code and the new director has 9.2.2 or 8.4(2d) code, will there be any interoperability issues when these two directors are ISL-ed together ?
I am planning to perform the initial config, create a port channel on the new director switch and configure all required parameters on the new MDS director to be on the existing Fabric, then plan to move one departmental switch port (one fabric at a time) to the new director. Are any best practices to be followed when moving NPV ports from the departmental switches to the new edge director switch?
