Howdy,
Has anyone tried trunking multiple VSAN's to a new qlogic HBA?
I will be testing it in the dev lab later in the week but I thought I would ask... :)
Cheers

Hi Andrew,
Multiple VSANs to a single HBA...your basically talking about frames being tagged with VSAN headers, ie a Trunking F port. We dont support TF port (yet).
We do however support NPIV, ie multiple FCIDs and FLOGIs from the same HBA in the *same* VSAN.
Some collegues of mine have tested this with MDS and I believe it works. I plan to get an NPIV capable HBA soon and run it with VMWARE.
Cheers

G'day Dallas,
I sure was... :( npiv doesnt do anything for me at the moment...
I knew there was talk a while ago about doing it and I noticed qlogic mentioning it on the website.
I really didnt want to put multiple hba's into machines (or pay insane $$ for ivr :)
