Question on Activating and Deactivating Zonesets

• I have deleted some zones in a zoneset
• These zones do not show up in the running config but they are there if you show active zones on this vsan
• The only way that I know of is to deactivate the zoneset
• But deactivating zoneset puts all the existing zones to drop traffic.

PS: all zones are in the same VSAN ans same ZONESET

Is there any other way to delete the zones permanently other than deactivating the zoneset?

if you want to get rid of them then

- save your running config

- update the zoneset config by removing each unwanted zone from the active zoneset (no member...)

- delete each unwanted zone (no zone name ... )

- activate the zoneset again

- verify that the host connectivity is not affected

you dont have to deactivate a zoneset to delete zones out of it

Thank you for your quick reply. I guess then we ONLY execute the "no zoneset activate name zsname vsan vsanId" when there are no more active zones left.
