Hi,

I need renumbering the current VSAN and Domain ID at HPUX environment, but I need preserve the actuals FCID numbers due HPUX create the physical paths with this information. Somebody know if it is possible or not??? I'm using MDS 9506 and i will upgrade to NX-OS 4.1(3a) soon.

Thanks in advance.

you can assign the same fcid to a WWN but it has to be in the same domain id, so if you were in domain id 0x16 ..you can only assign fcid 0x16XXXXX

You can change your VSAN ID no problem, just make sure you keep the same domain ID, in fact you make the domain ID static.

You will want to copy over your persistant FCID's as well, so copy them off and load them in the new VSAN, then when you bring the ports up, there should be no issues.
