Hello Team

From data sheets and WP's, i could see SME is supported only with MDS 9500/9200 series. Why is that? We have MDS 9710 and 9706 switches in which we hope to use SME to encrypt data at rest. The SAN arrays are IBM DS8886 and HPE 3PAR 20850. My vendor offers to provide me the following in the proposal :

  1. Storage Media Encryption package for one MSM 18/4-port for Cisco MDS 9500, Spare
  2. Will the above purchase help me with my objective?
  3. Do I need to buy the MSM hardware separately?
