We have a MDS 9513 switch and are testing the supervisor fail over.
We tried to disconnect cable to the mgmt port of the active suppervisor. Waited 5 mins and no failover, no Mgmt access
Can any one tell me in what Scenarios the Suppervisor would fail over?
Thanks

G'day,
The sup wont fail just for a mgt network failure.
The sup will fail when there is a critical hardware/software error on the sup which prevents the sup from working.
If you are keen, you can test failover by ripping the sup out :)
Cheers
Andrew

The supervisors will not fail over b/c the mgmt interface is down. Supervisors failover in case of upgrade, process crashing where process cannot restart, or manual failover. You can force a failover with a system switchover command.
