Hello,
I don't understand why the "do clear zone database vsan10" line appears in the running config with respect to zones and zonesets. Why is it here? I understand that the config shows us the active and the full Zone databases, but why the clear message? What is its purpose here?
Thank you

Hi Marc
I checked this with other MDS or N5k configuration. Is perfectly ok !
zoneset activate name VPLEX-Frontend-b vsan 200
do clear zone database vsan 200
After the clear...
all the zones are defined
all the zones are included in the zoneset
and finally there is a "zone commit vsan 200"
Therefore you have a clean configuration, without any dead zones that have been entered with
"conf t" and not committed.
Walter.

OK, thank you for letting me know you have it in your config as well.
Do you happen to know why it is there? It looks counter intuitive to show a clear command in the config.
I was finally able check an older config code ver 5.0 and it does not show the clear zone database. It does not show the active zones either. Interesting differences.
Thanks again

Hi Marc
This was a N5k version 5.0(7) configuration.
and I use enhanced zoning (which set logs, and therefore requires commit at the end)
system default zone distribute full
system default zone mode enhanced
zone mode enhanced vsan 200
Walter.
PS. as I mentioned before, the clear command sets up a clean configuration; however, why it is done is also not totally clear to me.
