We have an DC migration in progress. The setup included a MDS 9509 in the old DC and a MDS 9509 in the new DC. ISL was done between the two switches.
All fabric connections were moved to the new switch though zones\zonesets remained on the old switch. When all FC connected were removed, we disabled the trunking but the old switch was still online.
Last week, we tried to activate a new zone on an existing VSAN ( new switch) and it erased the complete zoneset on the switch.
All zones only part of that VSAN were erased, (close to 100 zones)
Can someone explain why this happened? should we have run " zone copy" or some other command? Does the concept of core\edge still block zoning on the new switch? Thanks in advance.
