Our students are having an issue with Packet Tracer files that error out with "The publisher certificate of this file has expired or is blacklisted. The publisher certificate has the following information." Then it shows the dates of the file. This started last Friday. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
A screenshot of the error is attached.

I found the fix, or actually a workaround, on the Cisco Network Academy official Facebook page.
Some complained there and there was a person stating he was able to do the test.
Here's what he said:
I changed my computer date to Jan 26 and turned off JAVA security check. Did the PT then turned JAVA security check back on and corrected the date. was able to do the assignment. Instructor has submitted the error to netacad
I did what he said and can confirm it works, I managed to do the test.
Enjoy!

It seems to be fixed now. Our instructor did not have to do anything. As near as I can tell it was on the Cisco side. I completed the PT exercise yesterday. Other than being extremely slow, it worked fine. Funny that an organization as large as Cisco still has issues managing the update of certificates.

I am actually still getting this same error and I cannot figure out what to do. My packet tracer assignments from my online course book still work, but when i try to access the ch 2 Skills assessment through the exams section i keep gettin this expired or blacklisted cert error. I tried changing the date like mentioned earlier but cant seem to get it to work for me, maybe im not doing it right but I really need to figure out how to get this to work. Anyone know anything else about this??
Thanks

I am still having some students having a problem with this. It is only with the skills assessments in the exams section. Is there a fix for this yet? We have tried updating Java, adding cisco.netacad.net to the Java security exceptions, updating web browsers and windows, and trying different web browsers. Changing the date produces a different Java error, but the assessment still won't load.

Hey guys! so I have the same problem and I did this
I changed my computer date to Jan 26 and turned off JAVA security check. Did the PT then turned JAVA security check back on and corrected the date. was able to do the assignment. Instructor has submitted the error to netacad
the only exception is I installed Java version 7 and change the security settings to "Medium"
I tested this on a VM with this changes and works!

Sorry to revive this dead topic, but it's one of the first posts when you Google this problem and I just had this problem on a lab PC at my college.

Thanks for this, helped me just knowing that it was most likely a Java issue!
What worked for me was:
Hope this helps anyone else who may run into this same issue, best of luck!
