Trivia Tuesday this week was about Cisco DevNet’s anniversary.
Along with that anniversary, today marks the 57th anniversary of the US debut of a television series that, arguably, has impacted many aspects of the world. Technological ideas such as handheld mobile phones, PDAs, Google Earth’s mapping technology, and more started out in the series on the small screen. Culturally, the series charted new ground in the 60’s through the casting of strong characters who were black female, Russian, and Japanese – groundbreaking and quite controversial for the time.
Star Trek, which originally ran for three seasons, resulted in 11 television spin-off series and six feature films. Congratulations on making such a huge impact on our world, Star Trek. Live long and prosper.
