Hi Cisco community,
I have a question about how NETCONF fits in with the existing CLI (Command Line Interface) and NMS (Network Management System) functionalities.
Are Cisco devices that support NETCONF typically designed with NETCONF in mind from the ground up, or is NETCONF development layered on top of existing protocols and systems like CLI and NMS?
Does the implementation of NETCONF introduce any significant changes or enhancements to the way CLI and NMS work on these devices?
I'm looking to understand whether NETCONF is seamlessly integrated into Cisco devices or if it involves a significant transformation of the existing infrastructure. Any insights or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your expertise!
