IOS devices will only connect to one SSID#1 or SSID#2 but never both

Has anyone ran into an issue with IOS devices (ipod/ipad/iphone) allowing association to only one SSID (in a 2+ SSID environment configured on the WLC) but never able to connect to more than one?  The only way i am able to get an alternate connection...
