Is the Adtran Atlas 550 the one I can use to simulate WAN links if I am practicing for CCNP level exams?

I just bought a could of used 2501's knowing one was bad but not knowing HOW it was bad.Upon turning on the power, with a console connection open I get NOTHING.The power supply works well enough to run the fan, but I don't know if it works well enoug...

Is there a way to configure a serial port (on a 2501) to talk to an ethernet port (on an 831) ?Perhaps with INT ASYNCH and ENCAP PPP ?Any thoughts appreciated.
