I am not sure I understood... What do you mean when you say that VLAN tags would need to be processed before the frame could be cut-through switched? this mean can't really work on Vlan based network? that you will not really use cut through into V...

*bytesThe frame header start with 8 bytes of preamble and 6 bytes of Destination MAC Address.Cut-Through is just reading the Dest.Addr and forwarding. That is all the speed switching benefit of this Switching Mode.
