Ok, now it's solved. Firmwares 20.6.6, 20.6.7 and 20.6.8 are bugged and will refuse to dhcp the modem.Last confirmed working firmware is 20.6.5.4.I'm guessing this is Cisco's way to finally phase out the old viptela boxes, because hw cert expiry wasn...
Nah, spoke too soon. NOT solved.Right after 'request reset config' it reboots and modem gets IP. But any reboot, power flip - it reverts back to bug. No config touched, it just breaks again. Genuine bug here.
Solution:After any big fw jump (in my case 18.4.5 -> 20.6.6) factory defaults must be restored, device reconfigured from scratch. Then it onboarded instantly. Thank you, hope this helps someone.

Except viptela boxes are no longer supported. Also, Release 20.3.x release notes list that bug as long fixed. It's not for me. Looking for users' input. Thank you
