I have tried all speeds from 1200 to 115200 to accees the port. I can see activity on the router on FA 0/0, EiGRP broadcasts, the ip address of the interface, even the version of IOS but I don't have the password or a printed config. I need access to...

It looks like the connector was dirty? I verified my laptop/cable then came back to this router and now it is working... and I had tried it multiple times switching the cable back and forth between the two ports.Thanks for your response.Rich

I get no messages at all via hyperterminal. The router boots, lights flash green as it boots. I see it sending out broadcasts, EIGRP info, etc when capturing packets connected via Xover cable/laptop via ethernet 0. I will try securecrt.
