Following the python session given by Lindblad in Cisco NSO Developers Days, I thought it would be useful to share the integration between Pycharm and NSO and use the NCS python libraries right from your development machine. Another option of course is to utilize the ipython NSO package and develop from NSO itself but I think it's much more convenient to have one developing environment for all your code and in this case it will be Pycharm Anyways, without more talking, Lets walk on the steps on how to do it Note: You need to have a Pycharm Professional (not community) version in order to apply the below steps (basically the remote interpreter feature) First, in Pycharm, Go to Tools | Deployment | Configuration Second, provide Linux details that host NSO application Third, Define new remote python interpreter  from settings | Project:<name> | project interpreter it will take few minutes to upload and download all helpers file needed to integrate pycharn with python, once finished you'll see all python modules installed in Linux machine appear in pycharm Finally to make Pycharm auto-complete the libraries and read the NSO python modules, You need to define the environmental variables under interpreter setting And That's it!. You can now develop your own service modules that use python using Pycharm integrated with NSO. Good Days, Recently I installed NSO in few customers environments and I thought it would be helpful to automate the installation procedures instead of repeating it each time or PoC. So I wrote Ansible module that take three inputs from user and take care of the rest Variable Name Usage ncs_package_name T his is the name of NSO downloaded package (example: nso-4.4.linux.x86_64) ncs_package_location Where you uploaded this package in linux server(example: /root/) ncs_run_location The location of instantiated project from NSO installation (example: ncs-run or access_project) Once you run the module (locally or via remote host), it will prepare the linux machine first with some settings (like disable selinux and firewalld services, install correct java version, update the cache..etc) then customize the bash profile with ncsrc file and finally install and run the NSO at the end to run it, simply execute the below command on host that has ansible package installed #ansible-playbook nso_demo.yml if you need to run it in verbose mode to see the exact running commands, then add few "vvv" to the command #ansible-playbook nso_demo.yml -vvv Sample Output Script Output NSO Started Please share any other ideas to automate the installation or NSO configuration. Hello Everyone, I downloaded the Cisco Elastic Service Controller (Cisco VNF manager) OVA and imported it into VMWare ESXI server. However I couldn't find the root credential to login to it through console or SSH. I tried every possible combination I know (cisco/admin/cisco123/admin123..etc) and all of them are not valid The only credential found is the GUI cred (http://serverIP>:9000) which is not valid for console/ssh login Appreciate your advise.
