i often had to turn on ''cdp run'' to enable cdp on both devices..however i too have a 2960S router connected to an asr1001x but despite having ''cdp run'' command issued i cant see the neighbors.
I think wat ur running into..is a diff between vrf and vrf lite..wat Mahmoud has configured is vrf lite...vrf lite is configured on sub interfaces..and does not support mpls because it has “no cef...if u want to configure vrf u have to do it on an sv...
