We have one of these with 4 Fourx adapters in it and want to use 1gb GBICs but whenever we enable the interface it err-disables. We've entered the hw command to put the 40G in 10G mode but still no go. Any ideas? I think we need to return the 40G ...

After following this procedure, I can not get my switch to load the config. I have 2 switches in a stack and tried the CFG=0 on both but they still boot to the switch> prompt. Any other suggestions?
We have 2 1gb fiber ports to each of our distribution switches. The 3750 stack has 2 12port SFP switches in it. We are replacing some of our distribution switches with 4500 series switches.jv
What version of OS do you have? I cannot enter that command. I just updated the switch to 12.2(58)SE2. The only real solution I found that works all the time is if the cable is longer then 50'.jv
