I have the same problem with C220M4 running firmware 3.0.3c CIMC is accessible for a few days via https, then no response. I have to ssh to CIMC and reboot it, then it works again. This is a brand new system running APIC that just arrived this month, and all apic's in the cluster behave the same way. Very disappointing; old firmware had no issues. Hope Cisco can find a workaround that doesn't involve decomissioning all the equipment.

Found the cause. 2 apic's had a clock out of sync. After changing clock on the server using F2 option, the cluster has formed.

I have 3 APIC controllers running version 1.2(3c). After doing the initial setup and discovering fabric nodes, the APIC do not form a cluster. The 1st controller is "available" while the other 2 get listed as "Unauthorized Controllers" as shown in the attached image. I reinstalled the OS, and made certain the initial configuration is correct, still nothing. What could be the issue ?

We got FAB-2 (N7K-C7010-FAB-2) with quite an old EPLD .004, and decided to upgrade to a newer version to ensure it operates properly in SUP2 and F3 environment. However the upgrade procedure keeps failing with the messages below. Is there any license required on asav in order to integrate with ACI ? I downloaded and installed asav for testing without any licenses. My asav has registered with ACI, but I'm not able to send any interface configuration to asav from ACI. Perhaps this is due to licensing, or may be I have a different problem.

Just a follow up on the difference between the basic model N9K-C9372PX and N9K-C9372PX-E: if I mix the 2 models in our environment, may I run into any compatibility or configuration issues ? Especially in situations when I connect an external device to both switches.

I'm having trouble finding any documentation on the difference between these 2 models in ACI mode. I found a short notice that in Nexus mode there is no difference, but I can't fine anything about ACI mode. Clearly "E" should mean some enhancement in hardware, but what is the enhancement, and what are its implications on the software and configuration.

I've got APIC-SIM-S simulator up and running for customer demo; upgraded to the latest image 1.3(1g). I can't figure out how to save the entire simulator setup/configuration. Every time the box is rebooted, I have to start over again by assigning inband management IP's and discovering the entire fabric. Anyone knows how the configuration can be protected between the reboots or point in the right direction? The simulator documentation is very scarce when it comes to managing the environment.

Just a follow up. With my current infrastructure version 2.1(3a), will I see SD card under local devices of my boot policy ? I realize that I need 16G card to work with 2.1 infrastructure. Once I put it in, enable the Flex Flash in local disk policy assigned to service profile, and put it on the blade, will the SD card option magically add itself as one of the options in boot policy ? Or will I always have to press F6 and go into bios to choose my SD card to boot from ? Thank you.

Hello, I realize that 16G cards are the only ones supported with UCS 2.1, but since they are EOL, we had to purchase the UCS-SD-32G= I found an explanation that it is possible to run 32G by just upgrading the CIMC software to 2.2(3a) or later. Would that work if I keep my UCS infrastructure on version 2.1(3a) and just upgrade the b200 M3 host firmware to 2.2(3a) ? Yamil, thanks for the response. This will solve the FEX interface issue, however there are other configurations that can't be loaded from TFTP, but can load fine from startup. For example port-conversion from Ethernet to FC ( slot 2; port 12-16 type fc); or "feature npv". These configurations require a reboot, and loading from TFTP won't work. However if this is part of the startup, then it loads fine. Unfortunately "copy tftp: startup" is depricated, and not allowed, and I don't see any replacement for that.

I am looking for a way to move my configuration file into startup-config. Doing "copy tftp: startup-config" throws depricated error. Copy from bootflash to startup-config same issue. It always suggests to copy to running-config and then startup-config, but this is not good enough. If I load from TFTP to running-config it will fail to take dynamic information such as FEX interface configuration, which only come up after a delay. For example, if my configuration has VPC, and FEX interface configuration, and I load it from TFTP, it will just throw an error, which says FEX interfaces don't exist. However if same configuration is saved in startup, it works fine, because it will wait for fex to initialize and then apply interface configuration. I can't find any workaround except keep loading my configuration through tftp multiple times; on each load it learns more and more information.

I ran into a strange route redistribution behavior on 7k running NX-OS 6.04 When I redistribute using route-map, the routing process automatically distributes my loopback interfaces, even though they are not part of the route-map. If I configure multiple loopbacks, all of them get distributed. If I remove "redistribute direct route-map TEST" from eigrp process, the loopbacks stop being distributed. It looks like a bug, but I couldn't find anything filed with Cisco.

I think the question is more about the device capability rather than about advantages of src-dst over src-dst-oxid. It is hard to argue that src-dst-oxid is always better. However we do allow src-dst load balancing on other devices for FCoE. On Nexus 5k there is no issue configuring Ethernet port-channel load balancing to be source-destination-mac, which will provide SID/DID load-balancing to FCoE. Why can't we do the same on 7k ? What if someone evil-minded set's one side of the FCoE port-channel on 5k to be source-destination-mac, and the other side on 7k is the default source-destination-L4port ? That may have more negative impact .
