On a catalyst 4506 (IOS 12.1(19)EW1 ), I try to forward UDP broadcast to a subnet with the global command: "ip forward-protocol udp 4203" and on the VLAN-interface "ip directed-broadcast".Has someone a clue why this doesn't work??
Yes, ip helpers are configured to forward dhcp/bootp requests. You are possibly right, I dont need the IP helper-address and the forward-protocol commands for a subnet-directed broadcast. But ommitting the ip helper-address on the source vlan doesn't...
Hi,I suppose you have autonegotiate configured on the interface. Try to set both ends (PC and switch) to a fix 100 Mbps/Full duplex speed. You can test the speed with "show interface xxx status".
Hi, I left the access-list for simplicity but it shouldn't matter. I removed the "ip forward-protocol" and also tried to send logging and snmp-trap information to a subnet-directed broadcast address. But that doesn't work either.Thank you anyway.
