I've noticed that in UCS Manager the "PID" is "HXAF240C-M4SX".
I'd like to change that to a regular "C240M4".

Unfortunately no. Cisco don't seem very interested in helping.We have however found that they work fine running VMware vSAN, and its fully supported by VMware.
We have had it up and running Hyperflex, but we have other needs now. We need a regular C server, and it seems silly to let this one collect dust when the hardware is identical to a C server.

I just want to use it as a regular server, install a normal OS(baremetal) on it and dont want any trouble if there are any support issues with the OS vendor.
Thats why I want it to identify as a regular C server.
When I've talked to the Cisco TAC it seems to me like they don't have too much experience with HyperFlex.
We got our systems for free so it doesn't matter that much, they won't be doing production critical stuff.
I was actually specifying the IP/URL to SSO manually in my config, as I didnt have working DNS, and that worked fine for the first system. Not the second.
Anyhow as I wrote above, re doing it from the start solved it for me. That seems to be the tric...
