Yes ,the 3750 had a vlan 100 with IP in same subnet ,vlan 100 was being propagated to all switches in VTP domain. I will be building a lab today ,so i`m going to test this again. Will let you know what i find. Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately i can`t post the results of the cdp cmd ,as i`ve had to remove the switch from the network ,live environment not good lab area. Strange thing is that some of the switches connected to the 3750 could ping the 3750`s management address an...

All above conditions have been met ,when i do a sh cdp neigh det on 3660 ,it shows the address of the 3750 ,but the 3750 does not see the 3660 at all ,no layer 2.
