There is to much talk about ids not being supported and stuff so is the 4235 IDS units supported and capable of upgrading to IPS 5.0 or not ? and if so does any have a link I can read on how to get started on this. Thanks.
This kind of implementation you are doing is what I have in out datacenter don't do it on one side only it will be difficult for the cableling you might want to go on both sidesChatworths have some good ideas and racks we use the megaframes and cable...
no problems here I'm using a 4235 units and upgrade all the way to 5.0 and up to 6.0.1 and it's working great. I have some notes from cisco tac that help me with the upgrades if you have any issues.

I got the same thing at time also I found out depending on what OS you are using I use Xpthe service are not started correctly I have had to start the cisco event viewer manually hope this works.
