If a group of production switches are configured as a cluster, is it necessary to touch each switch to move from PVST to Rapid Spanning Tree, or will the Cluster Commander propogate the change out to the member switches?
This sounds like the correct action from changing the port mode. The two ports must match configs, and spanning tree will most likely want to re-converge (~30sec) and then you should start passing traffic again.
