Hi All:
I have initially posted my issue in the Cisco small business forums as it pertains to a pair of stacked SG500 switches. However, without any such replies, I am broadening the audience scope in hopes of someone who has encountered this issue ...
I have a pair of SG500-28s stacked using 5G stackwise cables running firmware rev 1.4.1 in a remote datacenter. I have a number of application (WS2012R2) with quad port NICs (configured as NIC teams) which have their ports equally distributed across...
Hi All,
I have a pair of SG500-28s stacked using 5G stackwise cables running firmware rev 1.4.1 in a remote datacenter that was just upgraded (switches were stacked and multichassis etherchannels configured). I have a number of application (WS2012R...
I would like to confirm the security implications of VLAN 1 if I propose the following changes in a client design using Cisco SG series L3 switches.
VLAN1: user traffic flows (tagged)
VLAN x: management
VLAN99: native vlan
VLAN100: default vlan (a...
Hi All,
I have a pair of SG500 switches stacked together as a part of my collapsed core design. I would like to connect this stack to the edge network which is comprised of two Dell Firewall/SonicWall 2400 HA peered nodes. The switch stack can be...
After further characterization, this issue is dynamic in nature. Specifically, pinging the other physical server's hyper-V management partition (VLAN4) from another similar machine yields intermittent success. Actually more failure than success … m...
OK. So what i am hearing is that even if VLAN1 is not the native VLAN on a trunk link, there are still differences between VLAN1 and other tagged VLANs. Fair enough.
Are you able to list a couple of these special uses of VLAN 1 ? and what security...
But if VLAN one is tagged and the native and default VLANs are completely different. How is VLAN1 (tagged) any different than VLAN2-4094 ? what am I missing? I am looking for technical reasons at this point.
Just a brief clarification on expected behavior.
So if I make the stacked core switch uplinks to the pair of Dell firewalls access ports associated with a dedicated Edge-network vlan (vlan 50). Then in terms of outbound frames and switching behavior...
