Hey guys, hoping you can help.
First off I ran through and was going to do the registry trick as the video's and other discussions suggest. I went through the steps only to find that it was aleady correct in the registry.
So I keep getting that same error 442: Failed to enable Virtual Adapter
I am running VPN Client Version 5.0.07.0440
Thank You ahead of time to helping me get this working.

Hi,
I would suggest going with AnyConnect VPN Client. I'd imagine you will eventually end up in a situation where the old VPN client simply wont function. (unless you already did)
Have you considered testing the VPN Client connection with another VPN Client?
For example Shrew VPN client. Its been ages when I last tried it but maybe worth trying out?

No I have not tried Shrew VPN. From everything I read, Cisco is suppose to be up on WIndows 8 with no issues.

Hi,
I've found a workaround here: http://e3fi389.wordpress.com/2012/08/21/windows-8-cisco-vpn-client-fails-to-enable-virtual-adapter-error-442/
Open regedit, and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CVirtA key. Change DisplayName data property, cut it off before the semicolon value (the value may vary in some cases oem6.inf):
I hope it helps.
