VPN Causing WinSCP and University Web Access Issues

Hello,

I am experiencing a problem when using Cisco AnyConnect VPN to connect to my university network. When the VPN is active:

• WinSCP freezes or disconnects immediately when trying to access my HPC cluster (Stromboli).
• University websites such as Moodle and webmail, and external sites like Google, fail to load.
• AI sites like ChatGPT continue to work normally.
• PuTTY SSH connections to the cluster still work without issues.

If anyone know the reason and way to fix this, please help me.

I think you should reach out to the Uni IT department as all what you mentioned could be dependant on the VPN configuration they applied.
